AirHelp – das Portal für Fluggastrechte – ein Ranking über die Pünktlichkeit der Airlines und abgesagte Flüge von 100 europäischen Flughäfen erstellt (siehe unten). Insgesamt 20 Millionen Passagiere mussten sich ärgern, die meisten in Brüssel gefolgt von Paris, Eindhoven und Düsseldorf.
In Sachen Pünktlichkeit beim Ablug liegen Großbritannien und Irland vorne: Am pünktlichsten ist der Airport in Dublin, wo sich nur jeder 25. Passagier (Vier Prozent) über Flugverspätungen oder – ausfälle ärgern musste. Danach folgen der Belfast International Airport, der Flughafen in Liverpool und der Belfast George Best City Airport mit je sechs Prozent Verspätungen oder Flugausfällen. Zum Vergleich: In Brüssel mussten sich 28 Prozent ärgern, also fast jeder dritte. In Paris 27 Prozent, also ebenfalls fast jeder dritte, und Eindhoven mit 26 Prozent ebenso wie Düsseldorf. Mit kanpp 22 Prozent gibt auch Frankfurt keine gute Figur ab.

Das Fazit von AirHelp: Über 700.000 haben dabei möglicherweise einen Anspruch auf eine Entschädigungszahlung bis 600 Euro. Jedoch: „Außergewöhnliche Umstände wie Unwetter oder medizinische Notfälle können bewirken, dass die ausführende Airline von der Kompensationspflicht befreit wird. Geplante wie spontane Streiks bei den Fluggesellschaften zählen nicht dazu“, so Airhelp
